There's one model that's considered the holy grail of E46's: The M3 CSL.
With only 1,383 examples made, they came with a list of upgrades that separated it from the original M3. For example, CSL Front Bumper, CSL Carbon Fiber Airbox, Carbon Fiber center console, roof and other parts that shaved off some weight. With these upgrades and also newly designed seats, these additions and removals made it the perfect track toy.
They were only released in two colors: "Silver Grey Metallic" and "Black Sapphire Metallic"; standard colors that aren't necessarily meant to stand out. Some people enjoy these subtle colors, however others want more.
Located in Quebec, Canada, this original E46 M3 CSL has been painted Laguna Seca Blue, one of the most sought out colors for this platform. Owned by an import shop, the current owner has performed restoration and it currently sits at 30,000 original miles.
Pictured above is the car without its rear bumper. You can see the rear bumper support made of carbon fiber to reduce its overall weight.
