2003 E46 M3 DTM: When you look good, you race good

The details on this E46 M3 DTM build have been dialed in to ensure the functionality and appearance go together harmoniously.

There are a few directions you can take your E46 M3 build; it can be your meticulously maintained garage queen, weekend warrior, daily driver, DTM track car or anywhere in between. Owner: @Phung_Racing has built his M3 to look and function as a DTM race car. It's equipped with a DTM Fiberwerkz GTR kit & Carbon Fiber Hood as well as an RKP Carbon Roof & Bimmerworld GT Wing.

Appearance

One of the first things you notice when you see this car, other than the functional aero, is the ///Motorsport livery. Its original color is Jet black, however, it's now Satin White with a stand-out livery. Decals and Prints are done by Jay at Graphtech in Daly City. The owner, @Phung_Racing applied the 3M livery and decals to the exterior himself with knifeless tape. He also applied PPF to the front end. Considering the fact that this body kit has a plethora of curves and crevasses, that's no easy task.

Interior

As a functional track build, you try to save weight wherever you can. It's equipped with Hard Motorsport Vented Lexan rear quarter windows & CAE Race Ultra shifter along with Turtle Laboratories Door Panel Delete Cards. The interior is completely gutted and painted white to match the exterior in order to look good and go fast at the same time. The Schroth Profi 6 Point Harnesses are connected to the TC Design Custom Half Cage keeping the occupants safe and secure. The passenger seat is a Recari SPG & the driver seat is a Recaro SPA Carbon Kevlar Halo. Oh, can't forget about the Sparco 320mm steering wheel! The interior and exterior have been dialed in and coordinated to ensure its "Look good, race good" attitude.

Unsprung Mass

The MCS 2-Way adjustable damper coil-kit allows for optimal performance on the track. The Brembo Brakes are surrounded by Titan 7 TS-5 Satin Cyber Gold 18x10.5 squared wheels wrapped in Nankang AR-1's 295/30/18.

Engine Performance

The engine remains N/A with some modifications like a fuel starvation kit and a CSL aluminum performance triple pass radiator. It features an Epic Performace ECU Tune and a Borla Cat-Back Exhaust. Nothing crazy, the N/A S54 offers a lot in terms of drivability and reliability when it comes to demanding track driving.

A vehicle that has had hundreds of man-hours and money poured into deserves recognition. The modifications extend the capabilities of this build delivering joy to those experiencing it from the inside and from a distance.
